What is included in the rental price of the facility?

Your rental fee includes the following:

  • Rental of the Stratford Social Hall
  • Use of our state-of-the-art Audio, Video, Lighting and Recording system that includes 8’w by 12’h Video Wall, Tube Light and Down Light System plus a 3-camera set-up coupled with our Whisper Wave sound baffles and multi-directional sound system
  • Set-up of Stratford tables, chairs and soft seating per the event floor plan we develop with you
  • Recording of Your Event (you provide the USB drive)

What is the time for my event?

Your event includes 12 hours for a full day rental, which includes 4 hours for set-up, 6 hours for the event and 2 hours for takedown.

A half-day rental (Sunday – Thursday Only)  includes six hours, which includes 2 hours for set-up, three hours for the event and 1 hour for takedown. Please note your vendors must set up and take down within this timeframe, and you cannot use your set-up time to extend reception time. Please note the latest time for any event is 11:00 p.m. as required by the City of Memphis Noise Ordinance.

Are decorations included with the venue rental?

The decoration is NOT included in the rental fee. You work with your preferred florist and designer to determine the best décor for your event.

Is it easy to find you?

Yes!! The Stratford is centrally located at 674 Stratford Rd, off Summer Avenue between Perkins and Mendenhall. From Sam Cooper, take the Perkins exit and an immediate right onto Summer Avenue, then take a left at the first light onto Stratford, and our venue is located on your right. Exit I-240 on to Covington Pike, going south, (Covington Pike turns into Stratford Rd.).

Can we use outside vendors?

All vendors must be certified and insured companies. Catering and bartenders must be state certified and licensed.  Our list of preferred licensed caterers represents a variety of menus, and price points. There is a $500 admin fee to certify caterers not on our list.

What is the maximum number of people the facility will comfortably seat?

Our maximum row seating capacity is 200 guests.  For table, dance area, and buffet set up, 150 is the ideal guest count.

Do you have private dressing rooms?

We offer two beautiful suites each with a private keypad entry.  The Holiday Dressing Suite offers 7 hair/makeup stations and a seating area for 10.  The Imperial Green Room Suite can accommodate 12.

What kitchen amenities are available?

Our licensed catering  kitchen holds a double industrial refrigerator, a 400 lb. ice merchandiser, three warming stations (hot boxes) for 11 full trays each, a three compartment commercial sink, and three food prep counters.  We do not have a dishwasher or disposal, so no grease should go into the sewer system. Please note, no stove or oven is provided. Food must be cooked before entering the building. Food must be contracted through certified and licensed caterers.  Caterers are responsible for their equipment including chafing dishes, sterno, serving pieces, trays, etc. Catering staff shall restock food, bus tables, and place trash bags in the dumpster. The kitchen will be left in the condition received.

  • 48” round tables (for cake, gifts, photos, etc.)

  • Black, padded banquet chairs (250 available)
  • Lounge furniture: 2 couches, 4 club chairs
Is a security guard required at events?

Security is an industry standard and a requirement for events at The Stratford. We provide one guard for events that accommodate 75 parking spaces. We  require an additional guard for our 40 additional parking at $300, and any additional guards are $300.

How much is your damage retainer?

A General Liability Certificate of Insurance for Damages is required.

Do you have a parking zone?

Of course! We offer secure parking, with  75 free, self-parking spots. We have 40 overflow parking spots directly behind the venue available for the $300 additional security fee.

When are rehearsals permitted?

Rehearsals are permitted prior to the event during set up.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer 10% off venue rental bookings made within 30 days of your tour of the venue. Discounts may apply during promotions. We work with nonprofits and corporate clients to meet your specific needs.

Are fireworks approved to use at The Stratford?

For safety reasons, The Stratford cannot allow fireworks, sparklers, open-flames, or other material that presents a hazard for guests.  Nothing may be affixed to the walls or ceiling inside or out, no helium balloons, sequins, glitter, confetti, rice, soap bubbles, etc. Feel free to ask questions about specific materials and party enhancement options approved at The Stratford.

I am ready to book; what is my next step?

In order to secure your date, we require a nonrefundable fee that is 50% of your total rental price. A $2,000.00 refundable security deposit or certificate of insurance and signed contract at the time of confirmation to reserve the date as yours.
